Foster Care and Kinship Care provide a temporary placement in safe and nurturing homes for children who are removed from their parents’ custody due to their inability to properly care for their child. Foster/Kinship parents not only act as temporary parents for the child, but also assist the agency in working with birth parents who are working toward reunification with the child. TheVillage contracts with counties in the Greater Philadelphia area to provide these services.

Treatment Foster Care

Treatment Foster Care is for children with serious mental health and behavioral health challenges. Treatment foster parents receive additional training and participate in the treatment of the children at a level higher than that of traditional foster care.

Foster Parents Needed

TheVillage is continuously looking for families that can make a commitment to provide a temporary safe and nurturing home, to follow all of the rules designed to keep children safe, and work as a partner with the birth family and theVillage to assure that the children’s needs are meet. Foster Parents receive special training and ongoing assistance, including extra compensation for accepting children who are difficult to place.
